Wow! This place was fantastic.
The hours are a bit crazy but completely worth it if you can go. The interior is very charming and very family oriented. The owners decorated the interior with (what I assume) their children's medals in martial arts.
We were served by their teenagers and they were very charming! This only added to the family owned and operated vibe.
I ordered the chicken katsu and let me tell you, the portions were gigantic. I almost always have leftovers anywhere I eat but this time I ate the entire thing. The chicken was extremely tender and crispy; it was the best that I've ever had.
This place is 100% worth the visit. -

When I came here, there were decent amount of people eating lunch which indicates a good sign that the food might be promising.
Well, I was disappointed with the Ramen I ordered. The broth wasn't flavorful, the chashu wasn't moist (very dry and under seasoned), and the toppings/vegetables added didn't taste fresh. It was almost as if they took store bought ramen and cooked it in some watered down broth and added the toppings and vegetables. I don't mean to sound so bashful but the ramen just wasn't what I expected. I'm sure their other food items might be way better but I didn't try it when I came.
Good service though! I believe the owner's daughter took my order and rang up my bill- she was very pleasant to deal with. -

the good:
- Taiwanese cuisine
- Crystal, owner and server
- family-owned
- funky and quirky interiors
- the menu promises a lot of interesting dishes that i will be back for
- lunch special $2 extra
- generous portions
- flavorful soup: Miso
- side dish: vegetable curry with a little heat and loaded with flavor
- chicken cutlets - so crunchy and savory
- dark meat chicken with skin on! (i'm so glad that this restaurant doesn't use boring white meat chicken breast - that alone qualifies a star!!)
the not so good:

Stopped for lunch. It is very clean and has a family vibe. The owners children work the front of house. It is decorated with their karate awards.
Sweet bread was a fried French type loaf with condensed milk to dip in. It was ok, I think it would better as a dessert or to accompany a milk tea.
Popcorn chicken was very nice. It had a crunch and was nicely fried. It can be eaten by itself but could really use some sort of sauce. I made up a bowl of soy and chili paste to dip it in.
The yellow curry was ok, about what I can make at home. It needed more spice and the vegetables were overcooked. The Katsu was a large portion and good. It was nicely battered and fried.
House special lo mein was good. It reminds me of how I make it at home. It was loaded with meat.
The best way to some the restuarant up is home cooking. Everything I eat I could make at home. This is both a positive and negative. When eating out I usually want something that I cannot make easily. So it was kind of like going out go eat at home. 9n the positive side it is all fresh and nicely prepared. It is definitely a step up from your normal Chinese take out. If you have a craving to Chinese food in Pearland you need to check them out and form your own opinion.
Would recommend and return. -

We were in search for a ramen place in the area so we don't have to drive all the way to the other side of the city just to satisfy our craving. Yelp pointed us to this place. We weren't very optimistic but we were willing to give it a try. The service was great. They were very attentive and friendly.
Spicy Miso Ramen - I opted for the spicy version of the Miso Ramen. It comes in levels 1 through 5. I chose level one and she warned me that 1 is also too spicy for some people and she can make it a .5 spicy level. I was in a daring mood and decided to go for level 1. I should've listened to her. The broth was delicious and everything else that came with it. However, I was barely able to tolerate the spice as my lips were burning and my nose was running non-stop. Not a pretty sight. (I came back for the second time and got .5 spice level and it was perfect)
Popcorn Chicken - The chicken was tender and the flavor and spices were perfect.
